I am a trial lawyer.  I have participated in civil litigation since I began my career in the law in 1980.  For 28 years, I was a litigation paralegal in various types of litigation: first involving the representation of those who had been harmed by others; then expanding my focus to a broader scope of disputes to include construction, contract, and real estate; and, finally in intellectual property disputes, primarily patent litigation.  While a full-time litigation paralegal, in 2004, I began attending law school in the evening program at Capital University Law School.  After graduating in 2008, I continued my practice as an attorney in intellectual property disputes.  In 2012, I returned to a broader civil practice and added fiduciary litigation involving disputes over trusts, estates, improper use of power of attorney, and representing banks related to guardianship or special accounts.

In addition to my admission to the bar of Ohio in 2008, I am admitted to the federal courts in the Northern and Southern districts of Ohio.

I am AV Preeminent Peer Rated in Martindale-Hubbell and was recognized annually by Columbus CEO Magazine as one of the top Civil Litigators in Ohio beginning in 2015.

Giving back to the community is important to me.  I serve on the Professional Ethics Committee of the Columbus Bar Association; serving as chair since 2022.  In 2012, I received the Graduate of the Last Decade award from Capital University Law School.  In 2019, I was awarded the Outstanding Pro Bono Service by an Individual award from the Legal Aid Society of Columbus (now, Legal Aid of Southeast and Central Ohio.)  In 2018, I received the Difference Maker Award from my law firm for community service.

I have been married to Jon Hanson since 1983.  Our children and six grandchildren live close by and are our joy.  We are active members of Reynoldsburg Baptist Church.

I look forward to working with you to address and resolve your disputes whether that is by reaching an amicable resolution or by pursuing your case to trial.
